FORESTRY AREA

Viveros Eskalmendi, S.L. has reforested 71.27 ha of municipally-owned land belonging to the Vallarta de Bureba Town Council, in the municipality of Vallarta de Bureba, in the province of Burgos. Through the implementation of new forest stands, the aim is to increase the biodiversity of the land, mitigate the effects of climate change, and protect the territory against erosion and possible natural disasters.

With a density of 1. 100 plants/ha, the proportion of species used in the forestation was 40.0% Pinus pinea (stone pine), 9.5% Pinus halepensis (Halepo pine), 21.0% Pinus nigra (laricio pine), 7.0% Pinus pinaster (resin pine), 12.0% Quercus faginea (gall oak), 9.5% Quercus ilex (holm oak) and 1.0% Crataegus monogyna (hawthorn). 134,116.60€, 53% of which was financed by FEADER funds, 41.7% by the Junta de Castilla y León and 5.30% by MAGRAMA, was obtained to carry out the work.
